عمران (يتصل) : ألو.. الطوارئ معك جريدة البقاء، هل لكم إعلامنا إلى أي مشفى تم إسعاف المصابين الذين تعرضوا لحادث السير؟.
عمران ( يقطع الاتصال): أبلغوني أن المصابين تم نقلهم إلى مشفى الشفاء.
جمال: إذا فلنتصل بالمشفى
سلام (بحدة): الواجب يقتضي أن نذهب إلى المشفى بدل الاتصال.
عمران (متجهماً): أنا لا أستطيع الذهاب إلى المشفى، ليس فى هذا الوقت، بل فى جميع الأوقات، عندما أدخل إلى المستشفيات يصيبني إعياء شديد، لا أعرف سببه، لذا، أرجو المعذرة.
جمال: وأنا أفضل أن أذهب فى وقت لاحق، ربما أذهب مساءً بعد الانتهاء من العمل.
تيسير: سأذهب مع الآنسة سلام، إذا وافق الأستاذ عمران.
عمران: طبعاً لن أوافق، كيف أدعك تذهب وأنت المسؤول عن الأخبار وعم كل شاردة ترد إلينا، لولا متابعتك الدقيقة لما عرفنا بالحادث.
سلام (تمشى ثلاث خطوات باتجاه الباب وتستدير نحوهم): أحقا أن الصحافة تعمي قلوب من يعمل بها، أم أن القلوب فى بلدي معمية تجاه غيرها؟ يبدو أنني سأذهب لوحدي.
عمران (ببرود): لا مانع لدي، تستطيعين الذهب فى أى وقت.
سلام (محتدة): هكذا موقف لا يحتاج إلى إذن مسبق من أحد.
(تخرج).
