هذا الكتاب مواكبة للحركة الأدبية المعاصرة في كربلاء، وهو من الآثار الأدبية التي تطوف حول دراسة تاريخ الأدب دراسة موضوعية، وقد تمكن مؤلفه أن يترجم لإثني عشر أديباً وهو جزء من سلسلة أجزاء اعتنى بتهذيبها وصوغها السيد صادق آل طعمة. وبهذا العمل يكون قد فتح بقلمه المعطاء أبواب المعرفة الأدبية في العراق أمام القارىء العربي.
أما عن الأدباء الذين شملهم هذا الكتاب بالدراسة وقدم نبذة عن أعمالهم الأدبية وأدوارهم في رفد الحركة الثقافية والأدبية في كربلاء هم: السيد مرتضى الوهاب، الدكتور صالح جواد آل طعمة، الدكتور ضياء الدين أبو الحب، المحامي جعفر الشيخ عباس الحائري، السيد مرتضى القزويني، صدر الدين الحكيم الشهرستاني، محمد حسن مصطفى الكليدار آل طعمة، جاسم محمد الكَلكَاوي، مشكور الأسدي، حسين فهمي الخزرجي، علي محمد الحائري، حميد مجيد هدّو، عبد الجبار عبد الحسن الخضر ... وآخرون.
هذا، وقد قدم للكتاب بكلمات وتقريضات كلٌ من العلامة السيد محمد جمال الدين الهاشمي والأستاذ توفيق الفكيكي، ومرتضى القزويني وفيها تحدثوا عن أهمية ومكانة كربلاء ومنزلتها في نفوس المسلمين وغيرهم، وأشادوا بالجهود التي بذلها المؤلف في هذا العمل وفي حياته الأدبية ونشاطاته الإجتماعية وقيمه الروحية والدينية.
