Antonio Bernal De Obeilly مدريد 1888؛ ترجمه إلى العربيّة الدكتور سيمون الحايك، وهذا المُؤَلّف يكشف عن حقبة من الزمن قد تكون ناصعة في المطالبة بالإستقلال مع أحد أبطاله المجاهد الكبير في حقل الوطنيّة يوسف بك كرم الإهدني.
إنّ الدور الكبير الذي لعبَهُ هذا الشمالي يُسَطَّرُ بأحرف من نار ونور، إنّه لجدير بكلّ إكرام وتقدير لما فعله في سبيل لبنان، ولما تكتنز شخصيّته من قيّم روحيّة حملت البعض على المطالبة بتطويبه وتقديسه نظراً لفضائله الخلقيّة.
ويضعك الكتاب أمام حقبة من الأحداث الأليمة الدامية وقد ساورتها الفتن وتوغّلت فيها علّ في ذلك الإفادة من العبَر والعمل على نشر ثقافة السلام وحوار الحضارات.
أمّا فضل الدكتور سيمون الحايك ففي ترجمته إلى العربيّة يكون مثالاً يُقتدى به في زمن تنهار فيه قيمنا الوطنيّة والدينيّة على أعتاب هياكل النفعيّة الذاتيّة والماديّة.
