في «أسيرة الماضي» تعاني بطلة الرواية من ذلك القانون الذي انتهجه بنو البشر؛ شريعة الغاب، حيث القوي يأكل الضعيف، يتحول الحمل إلى أسد حتى يستطيع أن يتماشى مع الواقع المرير، فتقرر أن تتحول إلى لبؤة حتى تستطيع أن تفترس كالبقية، لكنها تُصدم بأن الأمر ليس له علاقة بالمال واسترداد الحقوق الضائعة، وتتفاجأ بأن المشكلة متعلقة بالماضي، والثأر قديم، وهي قد دخلت القفص برجليها وأصبحت في متناول أيديهم، فهل تستطيع التحرر من هذا القفص... صراع يبدأ بين طرفين، وجرائم ترتكب، فكيف ستكون النهاية؟!
أصبحت أشعر أنني سيدة القصر بدأت أدرب نفسي على كيفية التكييف مع الحياة الجديدة، أصعد كل يوم الدرج كما تصعد الأميرات، أحاول تقليد بعض الفنانات في الأفلام التي أشاهدها وأحاول أن أتقن جميع الأدوار حتى لا أسمع انتقاداً من زوجة عمي أم من أبناء عمومتي، لذلك يجب أن أصبح مثلهم حتى لو اضطررت إلى أن ألغي الماضي بكل ما فيه وأمشي قدماً لأصبح إنسان جديداً.
