هذا كتاب الأوضاع الحضارية في إقليم الجزيرة الفراتية في القرنين السادس والسابع للهجرة/ الثاني عشر والثالث عشر للميلاد وهو رسالة دكتوراه للباحث عبد الله بن ناصر بن سليمان الحارثي نالها من جامعة القاهرة عام 1997م.
وهي أول رسالة علمية تناقش هذا الموضوع بأسلوب أكاديمي متميز وطريقة علمية فذة. فقد تناول المؤلف الأوضاع السياسية في إقليم الجزيرة الفراتية ونشاطها الاقتصادي والثقافي وتناول أوضاعها الاجتماعية بشمولية يستحق عليها التقدير العالي. ذلك أنه سلط الضوء على مكنونات ذلك الإقليم الذي قلماً تناولته أقلام الباحثين على الرغم من أهميته ومكانته العربية والإسلامية. وقد امتاز المؤلف بقدراته الخلاقة على المقارنة والاستنتاج وإعطاء الرأي التاريخي بروح علمية بعيدة عن التحيز والاندفاع. فأبدع وأجاد وفسر الأحداث على الرغم من تعقيداتها تفسيراً ينسجم مع الرؤيا العلمية لكتابة التاريخ. فهو مؤرخ مرموق بحق وباحث علمي يستحق التقدير. ويعتبر كتابه إضافة نوعية للتاريخ العربي الإسلامي.
