تناول الباحث في هذه الدراسة الإطار الجغرافي والتاريخي لبلاد البحرين قبل قيام الدولة العيونية وبعد قيامها، ثمّ عرض للأحوال السياسية للدولة العيونية، بالإضافة إلى خلفية تاريخية عن النقود المتداولة في بلاد البحرين حتى منتصف القرن الخامس الهجري حيث حصرها في عدد خمسين درهما تناولها بالدراسة واصفاً جميع البيانات لكل قطعة وصفاً كاملاً، موضحاً جميع ما ورد عليها من عبارات دينية، أو أسماء، أو ألقاب، أو زخارف هندسية وغيرها. ثم درس هذه النقود دراسة فنية تحليلية لما ورد عليها من أسماء مدن سك النقود، ثم بيّن أنواع الخط على نقود هذه المجموعة وطرق تنفيذها، كما حلل النصوص والألقاب وبيان دلالتها الدينية السياسية، إضافة إلى إبراز الجوانب الفنية للزخارف النباتية والهندسية التي حملتها النقود.
