Book Description
الكتاب يتناول سيرة رضا سعيد، منذ مولده وحتى وفاته متتبعا مسار حياته في تركيا والشام وباريس، وعارضا لأهم منجزاته ودوره في تأسيس المعهد الطبي بعد لقائه مع الأمير فيصل بن الحسين عام 1918 في حلب، ودروه في الدفاع عن بقاء المعهد حينما رغب الفرنسيون بنقله إلى بيروت، وكيف أقنع الكولونيل كاترو من أجل إبقاء المعهد، ليتطور لاحقا إلى الجامعة السعورية التي أسسها رضا سعيد عام 1923.
كما عرض لقصة زواجه الثاني من السيدة خيرية خانم ماميش، فتاة اللاذقية، التي تعرف عليها أثناء ترددها على عيادته الطبية مع أختها، وقد تزوجها عام 1925، وأنجبت منه ابنه رضا، رجل الأعمال السعودي ـ السوري الشهير.
وتطلبت كتابة السيرة أن يسافر المؤلف إلى إسطنبول وباريس لتتبع مسار حياة رضا سعيد، واحتوى الكتاب على 60 صورة قديمة ونادرة. وظل الكتاب مخطوطا لأكثر من 15 عاما، وقد اطلع على المخطوطة نزار قباني "شقيق المؤلف" وكتب تقريضا له وكذلك المؤرخ عبدالسلام العجيلي وآخرون.
نزار قباني الذي اطلع على مخطوط الكتاب قال عنه "الإطار الروائي الذي أحاط به المؤلف حياة الدكتور رضا سعيد جعل منه بطلا إغريقيا يصارع أقداره واحدا بعد آخر، ولولا هذا الإطار الدرامي الذي اختاره لما اختلف الكتاب عن أي سيرة ذاتية عادية، كما أن المؤلف خلع على الدكتور سعيد عباءة من قصب الثقافة لم يكن ليخلعها عليه سواه، وإنه لمن حسن حظه أن أتيح له العين البصيرة والرائية والتشكيلية لتكتب عنه".
ويقول المؤرخ الدكتور عبدالسلام العجيلي بعد قراءته للمخطوط "قرأت الكتاب عن الدكتور رضا سعيد كرواية فأمتعني، وكوثيقة تاريخية فأفادتني كثيرا، إنه شيء جميل ومبتكر على الأقل في كتابة السيرة، البيوغرافيا، في أدبي العربي، وأعتقد أنه أتى بشيء جديد، وآمل أن يحتل مكانة في كتابة السيرة وفي الخلق الروائي".
