"حصة بنت الجيران" قصص قصيرة أقام خالد سعيد الداموك عمارتها اللغوية الأساسية على السردية الوصفية التي تحكي صيرورة ذوات أبطالها، والسردية هنا مبدأ منظماً في الخطاب القصصي، فهي المجال الأرحب لنمو الفكرة، وتطورها، وصيرورتها، وحتى بناؤها، وقد عرف المؤلف كيف يجعلها مساحة للتواصل مع القارىء، ومن أبرز تلك القصص التي حملت إلينا فضاءات الذات – عبر أفناء النص – "حصة بنت الجيران" التي كان لها حضورها الخاص، الحضور الممتلىء للزمن، مروراً بالذكريات، وانتهاءً بحاضر البطل "لا يمكن للذاكرة أن تموت في المكان نفسه الذي بدأت منه، وأخير الميت لا يمكن نسيانه في مسارح حياته الصاخبة، سأجده يركض مع الصبيان ويتوقف على النواحي ويكتب رسائله ..." هذا الإلتحام بين الماضي والحاضر، يشي بأنه لا يوجد شيء في الذاكرة لا يمكن استعادته، ولا فهمه، أما عن العلاقة بين الأثر (عوالق الذاكرة) والمكتوب فيمكن في أن كلاهما يحيل إلى الآخر من حيث هو غائب، غير حاضر أمام الإدراك، ولكنه غير قابل للإمحاء. ( ... ) الزمن لا يزال كما كان ولكن البيوت القديمة هي التي تغيرت، والصبية الجُدد لم يفعلوا شيئاً سوى أن أخذوا أدوارنا ومثلونا بالحكايات نفسها". هكذا هو الأدب حالة تسجيل للمشاعر ووجهة نظر في الحياة، تحرر الذات الكاتبة من قيودها، وترسم للمعيش شبيهاً روائياً.
يحتوي الكتاب على ثمانية عشر قصة قصيرة جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: 1- أشعة نووية، 2- أحدهم يسرق النجوم، 3- هناك شيء يلوح في الأفق، 4- ميسون، الصلاة الأخيرة، 5- ليلة عيد، 6- نصف، 7- تقمّص، 8- دَبَق، 9- وداعاً حبيبي وللحب بقية، 10- فتاة القبيلة ، (...) وقصص أخرى.
