يحتل إقليم بلوتشستان أهمية جيوسياسية كبيرة؛ بسبب في عدة دول، هي الباكستان وأفغانستان وإيران. ونجد في هذا الكتاب دراسة معمّقة عن هذا الإقليم من النواحي الجغرافية والتاريخية والديموغرافية والسياسية. وقد جاء ذلك في ستة فصول: يتحدث الفصل الأول عن جغرافية الإقليم وحدوده، ويسرد الفصل الثاني تاريخ الإنسان في الإقليم منذ بداية التاريخ إلى قدوم الإسلام، ويتحدث الفصل الثالث عن الشعوب البلوتشستية، ويدرس الفصل الرابع المستوطنات الإسلامية في الإقليم، ونقرأ في الفصل الخامس عن إقليم بلوتشستان في عصر الخلافة الإسلامية، ويتحدث الفصل السادس والأخير عن حالة الإقليم في مرحلة انحسار نفوذ الخلافة الإسلامية فيه، من القرن الثالث إلى القرن السابع الهجريين.
