لقد تجلى حرصُ أهل الحديث الشديدُ - بعد زمن تدوين أمهات الكتب الحديثية - على الأجازة والمناولة التي قد تقع بين التلميذ وشيخه في مجالس التحديث، وتدوين مسائلها، والإتصال بسلاسل العلماء عن طريقها.
وهذه ثلاث رسائل لأئمةٍ نُقادٍ أجلاّء، تَعَدُّ من أهمّ النصوص وأقدمها التي تؤرَخ الخلافَ في هذه المسألة المهمة في علوم المصطلح:
الأولى: إختلافُ الأئمة في القراءة والسماع والمناولة والإجازة، للحافظ أبي عبد الله ابن مندَهْ (395هـ)، وقد تتابع أهل العلم في النقل منها، والإشارة إليها، لتقدّم زمن تأليفها.
الثانية: مسألة في الإجازة، للحافظ أبي بكر الحازمي الهمذاني (584هـ)، تحدّث فيها عن عدة مسائل تتعلق بالإجازة، منها ما اشتهر في ذلك الوقت بين بعض المتأخرين من التوسع في الإجازة، وإجازة المعين والصغير الذي لم يتحمّل الرواية.
الثالثة: مسألة في زمن رأى الإجازة وصحتها، للحافظ أبي عبد الله الدُّبَيثي (637هـ)، وقد حوت - على صغرها - دُرراً وتقييداتٍ مهمة، جَمّةَ الفوائد.
