أول يمتاز به هذا الكتاب أنه متدرج تدرجاً واعياً. فالدروس تنتقل من السهل إلى الصعب دون أن يفاجأ الطالب بهذا الانتقال المدروس. وقد تحقق هذا الهدف بتسلسل منطقي مبني على فصل الصعوبات ومعالجتها في حينها، واحدة بعد أخرى، بحيث لا يلقى الطالب عنتاً في حل جميع المشكلات، فضلاً عن أن التبويب الدقيق يعينه على الرجوع بسهولة إلى الموضوع المقصود فهمه. ولا يخفى على كل متتبع، الجهد الكبير المبذول في اختيار أبيات الشعر. فقد قصدنا لا إلى أن تأتي موافقة للقاعدة فحسب، بل أردناها منسجمة ونفسية الطلاب وبعيدة عن التعقيد وهكذا تنوب هذه الدرر الأدبية عن نص القاعدة الجاف، فضلاً عن أنها تكسب الطلاب مهارات لغوية رائعة. ومن المعروف أن تعليم قواعد اللغة ليس في الأصل غاية بل وسيلة لتقويم القلم واللسان. وإن الفهرس العام لهذا الكتاب يعرض لنا محتويات الكتاب الذي قُسّم إلى عدة أقسام وكل قسم إلى عدة أبحاث بدوره فالقسم الأول مثلاً بعنوان إعراب المفردات يحتوي ثلاثة أبحاث هي على التتالي (الفعل - الاسم - الحرف) أما القسم الثاني فهو بعنوان علامات الاعراب في الأسماء وفيه أيضاً الأبحاث التالية: (الاعراب بالحروف - الاعراب بالحركات - الممنوع من الصرف) أما القسم الثالث فهو أحوال إعرابية خاصة وفيه أربعة أبحاث: (الأسماء المبنية - أسماء تعمل عمل الفعل - أسلوب التعجب - أفعال المدح والذم) أما القسم الرابع فهو اعراب الجمل وفيه الجمل التي لها محل من الاعراب والجمل التي لا محل لها من الاعراب أما القسم الخامس قهو عبارة عن تطبيقات حيث فيه مجموعة أبيات معربة مفردات وجمل وكذلك أبيات للإعراب بالإضافة إلى مرجع أبجدي لإعراب الأدوات والحروف وبعض الكلمات الكثيرة الاستعمال.
