إن هذا العمل محاولة للتقريب بين النظرية والتطبيق لأن المنظرين يوغلون في التحدث عن أهمية التفكير واتجاهاته، وذلك لأنهم لم يدخلوا الصف في كل مراحله الدراسية، لذلك جاءت نظريتهم مسلوبة البرهان، ولذلك حاولت المؤلفة أن تجتهد بقدر ما لديها من خبرة وتطبيق أن تحقق حلم نقل النظرية إلى التطبيق.
والمشرق في هذا الكتاب أنه يتضمن أعمال الطلبة والمشاركين في دروس وورش تعليم التفكير ضمن المنهاج في مناطق عربية مختلفة بإشراف المؤلفة، فكانت تقوم بالتعديل والتغيير والتطوير بهدف زيادة الفائدة للمصلحة وللمعلم العربي، وتهدف من ذلك أن يعود لدفع الطالب العربي لأن يعيش في أحداث العالم، وصنع تاريخه، ووقته، ويختبر أفكاره، ويصبح مولّداً للمعرفة والبدائل وينافس أبناء العالم في التميّز والتفوق وتحقيق الذات، وقد جاء الكتاب محاولة أولية ستخضع للتجريب والتعديل والاستفادة من الملاحظات لزيادة فاعليته في تحسين الظروف الصفية لدى الطالب العربي.
