وكان الأجدى بهذه وتلك أن ترفعا راية واحدة، لا تمت لا للدين ولا للديمقراطية بصلة - راية التوسع والنهب - فالعامل الإقتصادي كان، ولا يزال القاسم المشترك بينهما، والمحرك الأساسي لهما، مهما بذلت المحاولات من أجل طمس الحقائق، وذر الرماد في العيون.
