لقد ساهمت النهضة الهائلة في وسائل الاتصال والانتقال خلال السنوات الماضية على تشجيع السياحة الدولية التي أصبحت سمة بارزة من سمات العصر الحديث، الأمر الذي ترتب عليه زيادة أهمية الصناعة الفندقية في مصر، وحيث إن السائح يأتي إلى بلدنا للتمتع بسحر مناخها ومشاهدة روائع آثارها، فإن أحدًا لا يستطيع أن ينكر أن الإقامة ورؤية المناظر الجميلة لها دور كبير في جذب السياحة وكذلك نجاحها، ولكل هذا أولت الدولة الفنادق كل الاهتمام، إن من أهم الأقسام التي يتضمنها أي فندق الآن هو قسم الإشراف الداخلي.
لذا جاء هذا الكتاب ليوفر للقارئ العربي والباحثين والعاملين في مجال الفنادق بصفة عامة وقسم الإشراف الداخلي بصفة خاصة، أساسيات الإشراف الداخلي في صناعة الفنادق بطريقة علمية مبسطة.
تم تقسيم هذا الكتاب إلى أبواب وكل باب إلى فصول... ففي الباب الأول: الذي اعتبرناه بمثابة مفاهيم للفنادق وأنواعها، تناولنا تعريف الفندق والخريطة التنظيمية للفنادق وتعريف الإشراف الداخلي
أما الباب الثاني: فقد قسمناه إلى فصول، ففي الفصل الأول - تناولنا موضوع الصحة والأمان وحوادث النزلاء، أما الفصل الثاني - فقد تناولنا موضوع الأقسام التي لها علاقة مباشرة مع قسم الإشراف الداخلي، والفصل الثالث - عرضنا فيه تجهيزات الغرف.
وأما الباب الثالث فقد قسمناه إلى ثلاث فصول: ففي الفصل الأول - عرضنا أنواع الغرف، وفي الفصل الثاني - قدمنا أدوات النظافة، أما الفصل الثالث - فقد عرضنا فيه مواد وأعمال النظافة.
وأخيرًا فقد قسمنا الباب الرابع إلى أربعة فصول: ففي الفصل الأول - عرضنا التوصيف الوظيفي لقسم اللوندري (المغسلة)، وفي الفصل الثاني - قدمنا تجهيزات قسم اللوندري، أما الفصل الثالث - فقد عرضنا فيه قسم البياضات، واختتمنا بالفصل الرابع - الذي عرضنا فيه الرقابة والموازنة في قسم الإشراف الداخلي.
