لقد اختلفت آراء الكتاب والباحثين حول اليزيدية اختلافاً بيناً، ويعود ذلك حسب رأيي إلى أسباب عدة لعلّ من أبرزها ندرة المدونات التاريخية حول الطائفة، أولاً، وإلى الكتمان الشديد الذي كان يبديه اليزيديون تجاه إعطاء المعلومات المتعلقة بديانتهم لغير اليزيديين، ثانياً، وثالثاً بسبب اعتماد أغلب الباحثين على كتابي "الجلوة" و "مصحف رش" وإهمالهم لمصدر آخر لا يقل أهمية عنهما وهو التراث الشفوي للطائفة اليزيدية المتمثّل بالأقوال والأدعية والقصائد ويعدّ بحق مادة خصبة للباحثين الراغبين في معرفة أسرار الديانة اليزيدية وخباياها.
لقد اعتمدنا في هذة الدراسة بالدرجة الأولى على تلك الأقوال والأدعية وبيان مدلولاتها وبذلك أكون قد لبيت الدعوة التي أطلقها السيد (عز الدين سليم باقسري) رئيس مركز لالش الثقافي الذي قال في كتابه (مه ركَه هـ ): ( كما نهيب بالإخوة الكتاب والباحثين الاعتماد على هذه النصوص في دراساتهم وبحوثهم عن الإيزيدية وعدم إتخاذ ( الجلوة ومصحف ره ش) المنشورين حالياً كمصدرين معتمدين).
