لما كان الشعر العربي وسيلة للتعبير عن مكنونات النفس البشرية، وخلجات الذات الشاعرة، حاول الشعراء في قصائدهم رسم الصورة التي تعبر عن حالاتهم الشعورية، ونزعاتهم العاطفية والإنسانية؛ لذلك جاء نتاجهم مفعماً بظواهر شعرية لفظية ومعنوية عدة من بينها الثنائيات الضدية التي تشمل الضدين المختلفين لينسجما معاً بعلاقة تفضي إلى معنىً واحد يقصده الشاعر.
ويعد الشعر السعودي مصدراً أدبياً قيماً، ومنهلاً علمياً مهماً، يرفد الباحثين بشتى الموضوعات، ومن أبرز أعلام هذا الشعر: طاهر الزمخشري الذي كان لإنتاجه الشعري أهميته وقيمته الأدبية والفنية.
ومن منطلق مكانة طاهر زمخشري بين الشعراء، ولغزارة إنتاجه الشعري وتميزه، ولأهمية موضوع الثنائيات الضدية في الدراسات الحديثة من حيث إنها تكشف عن رؤى المبدع وفلسفته ومبادئه، مما يجعل النص الشعري مختلفاً عن غيره من خلال الأنساق الضدية التي تفضي إلى علاقات داخل أنسجة السياق النصي، ولأن الزمخشري شاعر التفت إلى هذه الأهمية فقد أبدع في الجمع بين المتناقضات التي تحفل بها الحياة إلى حد الشغف، ولشدة ولعه بالثنائيات أو الجمع بين الضدين فإنه يمكن للقارىء أن يلحظ مدى توظيفه لها في جل شعره حتى تكاد لم تخلُ قصيدة من قصائده منها، ولربما جمع عدة ثنائيات في قصيدة واحدة؛ لأجل هذا وغيره جاءت هذه الدراسة لتسلط الضوء على الثنائيات الضدية التي تمثل ظاهرة مميزة في شعره، وعلامة بارزة وواضحة في كافة منجز طاهر زمخشري الشعري، وتسعى الدراسة إلى إيضاح مواقف الشاعر من قضايا هذه الثنائيات، وبيان دلالاتها، والعوامل التي دعت الشاعر إليها، ومدى أثرها في توليد الحركة والتفاعل في مضامين القصائد التي وردت فيها، لذلك عمدت الدراسة إلى الربط بين التجربة الشعرية والقيم التعبيرية والتصويرية لإبراز الجماليات الفنية في العمل الأدبي الذي برزت فيه هذه الظاهرة.
ويستمد البحث موضوعاته في الغالب الأعم من إثني عشر ديواناً من أعمال الشاعر، تضمنتها: مجموعة الخضراء ومجموعة النيل، وهاتان المجموعتان تحتويان على معظم دواوينه، وتمثلان أكثر نتاجه في مراحل مختلفة من حياته خلال مسيرته الفنية، كما أن المجموعتين تعطيان صورة واضحة عن باقي دواوينه.
