"إختراع موريل" رواية للكاتب الأرجنتيني أدوافوبيوي كاساريس، كتبها في العام 1940 باللغة الإسبانية، نقلها إلى العربية أحمد يماني. وهي رواية تتوسل الخيال العلمي، وتستفيد من الرواية البوليسية، وتطرح مسائل ما برح الكائن البشري يناقشها ومنها مسألة (الموت والخلود) ومسألة (الحب والوحدة)، في لغة أقل ما يقال عنها إنها شديدة التركيب والتكثيف والتعقيد .. وخاصة في طرحها مسألة الصورة والعالم الواقعي والإفتراضي وهو ما جعل الناقد أدولفو باسكيث روكا، في دراسة لافتة تتناول "إختراع موريل" ، يرى أنها رواية تأسيسية لأدب إستباقي حيث تحضر فيها رحلات الخلود وتكرارات الحياة وأرشيفات الصور ...، مضيئة النظام الأنطولوجي للصورة وهي مسائل إشكالية تناولها، في زمن لاحق، منظرون للصورة مثل جان بوديار وبول فيريليو وسوزان سونتاج، مانحة موضعاً لتأمل الخطوة المعقدة للإنتقال مما هو واقعي إلى ما هو إفتراضي والذي يقوم فيه عالم الصور بتهديد العالم الواقعي.
وفي الرواية أيضاً، ثمة لعبة سردية تعتمد على الراوي وعلى ناشر مجهول يقوم بالتعليق في بعض المواضع من الرواية. يشكل تعليقه جزءاً من الرواية نفسها ويدخل في صلبها، هذا الناشر المفترض يمثل راوياً جديداً إلى جانب الراوي الأساسي وكأن الكاتب أراد بها التأكيد على فكرتين تكتنفان الرواية بكاملها، فكرة التكرار وفكرة الإنفصال. هناك ثماني ملاحظات باسم الناشر وثمة ملاحظة واحدة باسم "موريل".
قدّم للرواية المترجم بمقدمة تحت عنوان "خوليو كورتائر" عرض فيها لحياة وأعمال ومكانة كاساريس وعلاقته بأدباء عصره ومنهم بورخيس. يتبع ذلك (تقديم) تحت عنوان "إختراع موريل" للكاتب خورخي لويس بورخيس وفيها يعلن "يكزفيني الإعلان أن بيوي يجدد أدبياً مفهوماً كان القديس أغسطين وأوريجنس – كاتب لاهوتي – قد دحضاه، وعقلنه لويس أوجوست بلانكي، وقاله بموسيقى لا تنسى دانتي جابرييل روستي ...".
