كثيراً ما يظن المعماريون أن إبداع التصميم فيما ينتجون من أشكال جميلة، وعلى الرغم من قيمة هذا الإعتقاد إلا أنه أمر جدلى يقبل الأخذ والعطاء. فما تراه أنت جميلاً قد يرام غيرك قبيحاً. ومن هذا المنطلق يجد من يدرس مادة التصميم المعمارى صعوبة شديدة فى إقناع الطلاب بما يراه هو خطأ إذ إعتمد على الشكل والتكوين والكتلة. لكن الأمر ليس كذلك إذ نبع الإبداع من عظم المبنى، لأنة يعتمد وبصفة مباشرة على قوانين الإتزان والقواعد الإنشائية. وعلى ضوء مباشرة هذا فالأمر لا يقبل الأخذ والعطاء، والأمر يضع المصمم فى موقف قوى أمام طلابة أو أمام عملائه ممن يرغبون فى تشيد ولو وحدة معمارة صغيرة، والأمر قبل هذا وبعده يؤدى أى خلل فيه إلى إنهيار المبنى، لذا كان الإبداع الإنشائى إبداعاً منطقياً.
