ربما لن نخفي اعتقادنا بأن القصة القصيرة في عمان هي القادم الجديد. ولعل الرائي من الأرض إلى السماء عبر الفراغات التي تحدثها الريح لدى تحريكها لسعفات النخيل، قد يتراءى له أن هذه السعفات هي التي تحرك ببطء قرص الشمس الذي ربما لم تعد تحركه قوانين حركة الأجرام الكونية، بل قوى الحدث الذي ينسج في البعيد.
يأتي هذا الكتاب ثمرة جهود عامين متتاليين من نشاطات فعاليات أسرة كتاب القصة في عمان، بالنادي الثقافي، والتي انتظمت في أكثر من أربعة من أمسياتها الدورية في الفترة الممتدة من يناير 2007 إلى يناير 2009. وبطبيعة الحال فإن القراءات القصصية والنقدية المتضمنة بين دفتي هذا الكتاب هي بعض مما أنجز في الفترة المذكورة، ولا تمثل إلا توثيقاً جزئياً تم اختياره بشيء من الانتقاء ليمنح قارئه فرصة التعرف على بعض التجارب القصصية العمانية الحديثة.. وقد أدرج معدا الكتاب في نهايته ببليوغرافيا بالمجموعات القصصية التي صدرت لكتاب عمانيين في الفترة ما بين عامي 2000 و2008.. نأمل أن يصبح هذا الكتاب مرجعاً مفيداً يضيف رصيداً معرفياً للقارئ والكاتب والناقد المتتبع لنشاط الحركة القصصية وكتابها في سلطنة عمان.
