ويسعى الكتاب، من وراء تقديم ذلك إلى القارئ إلى أن يعرفه على الطقوس الفرائحية التي تصاحب الأفراح والأعراس في اليمن، ويؤكد المؤلف أنه نمط من الأدب الإجتماعي وليس دراسة إجتماعية صرفة.
