تناول المؤلف السيرة الذاتية للفريق سعد الدين الشاذلى وهو أحد أهم القادة العسكرية المصرية خلال حرب أكتوبرالتى تعد أهم معركة عسكرية خاضتها مصر والأمة العربية فى صراعها ضد العدوان الاسرائيلى وذلك من خلال تتبع رحلة حياة هذا القائد العظيم منذ الميلاد وحتى الرحيل، وتناول أهم محطات حياته بالتحليل والرصد، خاصة تلك المحطات والمواقف التى تزال تثير الكثير من الجدل والتقاش، ويضم الكتاب أرشيف لبعض الصور النادرة للفريق الشاذلى وبعض القيادات المعاصرة فى ذلك الوقت ومراحل توليه المناصب بالصور وايضا بداخل الكتاب توضيح لاهم المناصب التى اسندت اليه وتاريخ توليها، بالاضافة ترتيب القوى العسكريه فى العالم طبقا لاحصائيات عام 2011 من موقع الدراسات العسكرية فى العالم جلوبال فايربور.
