كيف يجب أن يبني الإنسان نفسه ليصل إلى السعادة الحقيقية ؟ وما هو الشيء الذي يجب أن يجعله نموذجاً وقدوةً لنفسه فيبنيها على أساسه ؟ وما هو الطريق والمنهاج الذي يجب أن يسلكه ليضمن سعادته ؟ في الجواب يجب القول : إن باطن الإنسان يُبنى بالملكات الأخلاقية ويتشكّل على اساسها . فإذا جرى اختيار الملكات الحسنة والفضائل الأخلاقية . كان باطن الإنسان جميلاً متوازناً ، وإلا كان قبيحاً غير متوازن . إن الفضائل الأخلاقية في الحقيقة تمتلك القدرة على أن تجعل من الإنسان ملكاً . لذلك كان التحلّي بالأخلاق ، ضامناً لفلاح الإنسان ، وهو السبيل الوحيد والمركب السهل للوصول إلى السعادة .
