إن الإزدياد الكبير في حجم المشروعات الزراعية التي نفذتها وزارة الزراعة والإصلاح الزراعي في مختلف المجالات الإقتصادية في سورية، بهدف التوصل إلى تحقيق أهداف التنمية الزراعية الشاملة، المتمثلة بزيادة الإنتاج الزراعي لمختلف المحاصيل الحقلية الشجرية والخضراوات، وزيادة المنتجات الحيوانية، وتحسين المستوى المعاشي للمزارعين وتحسين دخولهم، إلى جانب توفير فرص عمل تكفي لتشغيل عدد كبير من الأيدي العاملة الزراعية، كل ذلك يتطلب جهداً كبيراً من خلال تهيئة عدد كبير من المتخصصين الإقتصاديين في مجال المحاسبة المالية الزراعية، مزودين بمعارف ومهارات عالمية في مجال إدارة السجلات المحاسبية الزراعية، وكيفية إستخدامها وتنظيمها وإعداد القوائم المالية بأسس علمية وسليمة.
من هنا، برزت الحاجة إلى التعريف بأهمية المحاسبة المالية، أسسها ومبادئها وأهدافها ووظائفها، وكيفية تسجيل العمليات المالية ومعالجتها محاسبياً، وغيرها من الموضوعات المرتبطة بعلم المحاسبة، بحيث يؤدي ذلك إلى تنمية مهارات وقدرات الطلاب في قسم الإقتصاد الزراعي / السنة الخامسة / في آلية تحليل العمليات المالية وأسس معالجتها، وإعداد حساب المحصول، وحساب محاصيل البساتين والأشجار المثمرة، وحسابات مشروعات الإنتاج الحيواني، وغيرها من التطبيقات العملية المفيدة.
يقع المقرر في جزأين، يتناول الجزء النظري منه التعريف بمبادئ وخصائص المحاسبة المالية، والمصطلحات المحاسبية، وماهية نظريات القيد في المحاسبة، وعمليات المشتريات، والمبيعات ومعالجتها محاسبياً، والمصروفات والإيرادات والعمليات الخاصة بها، والقروض المصرفية ومعالجتها في الدفاتر المالية، والعمليات الآجلة والتداول بالأوراق التجارية ومعالجتها محاسبياً، إلى جانب عمليات الجرد والتسوية الجردية، وكيفية القيام بعمليات الجرد لمختلف الاصول والخصوم، وكيفية إعداد القوائم المالية والحسابات الختامية للمشروعات الزراعية بمختلف أنواعها.
