كان اللقاء مفاجئاً لكليهما وخطأً غير مقصود تماماً مثل وصول رسالة بريدية إلى عنوان آخر بالخطأ... ولكن ذلك الخطأ تحول إلى كارثة بالنسبة لخوليو الذي يدير مصنعاً للسكر، ومساحة هائلة... مزارع قصب السكر، في أدغال أميركا اللاتينية...
وليكفر عن خطيئة إغتصابها، الخاطئ في تقديره، في تلك القرية المتديّنة، وهو ابن العائلة العريقة، ولئلا يلتصق بها العار، طلب منها أن تستعد للزواج في الكنيسة إنقاذاً لشرف عائلته... ليس إلاّ... وكأنما هي التي اغتصبته!...
ولا غرابة في ذلك، فقد أوصلت له رسالة من فتاة ترجتها في محطة القطار أن توصلها إلى فندق في المدينة، فظن أن صديقته "الحميمة" أرسلت بديلاً منها لتأدية "الخدمة العاطفية" التي اضطرتها ظروفها لعدم تمكنها من ذلك... فكان ما كان... إنها ضواري بشرية تتصرف حسبما يحلو لها، دونما مراعاة لأية مشاعر إنسانية...
فما الذي حدث بالتفصيل، ليس المملّ، بل المشوق بإمتياز!...
