إنَّ الصلاة على خير الأنام وبدر التمام وصفوة الواحد المنان تُعدُّ من أعظم العبادات وأشرف القٌرْبات، لذلك حثَّ النص القرآنيُّ على الدَّأبِ في طلبها، وكشفت الأحاديث النبوية عن منازل الإلتزام بها والثمرات المُجتناة من أرجائها، وإمتثالاً للأمر الإلهي، وإبتغاءً للمثُوبة، وتعظيماً لجناب صفوة واسطة عقد الأنبياء الكرام، اجتهد كثيرٌ من محبِّي الحضْرة المحمديَّة في إتيانِ هذه القربة العظمى، وشمَّروا عن ساعد الجِدِّ في إقامتها سراً وعلناً، ومن وُجوه ذلك، إفرَادُها بالتَّلْحيصِ والتَّأليف، فجاءتْ صنائعُهم في ذلك المنهل العذْب مُوزَّعةً بين مُبيِّنةِ لِحُكمها وفضائلها ومواطنها، وأخرى مُوضِّحةٍ لجميع أُمورها وتعلقاتها المُختلفة، ومن وجوه ذلك الإجتهاد كذلك، الإنكباب على تحقيق ما ألَّفهُ العُلماء من رسائل وكتب في أمر ذلك.
وفي هذا السياق المُومأ إليه، يندرجُ تحقيق هذا الكتاب "غنيمة العبْد المُنيب في التوسُّل بالصَّلاة على النبيِّ الحبيب"، للإمام "أبي عبد الله محمد بن محمد بن ناصر الدرعي" ضمن الكتب التي جعلت من "الصلاة والسلام على خير الأنام" مادة وموضوعاً لها، وهي شعيرة من شعائر الإسلام التي حضَّ الله جلَّ ثناؤه عباده المؤمنين بها.
وقد انتهج المحقق في تحقيق هذا الأثر الفذ معبأ قائماً على مبادئ علمية، تنهل أُسُسها من مناهل أكاديمية، إستحضار مدارك بعض المُتلقين ومقاماتهم المعرفية، حِرْصاً على تعميم الإستفادة وإيصال المنفعة؛ وهكذا صدر الكتاب بتقديم عام تناول فيه جملة من المواضيع قد تسعف المطالع في تمثل الكتاب ومؤلِّفه تمثلاً تاماً، وقد جملها في ثلاثة فصول، الأول عقده للحديث عن عصر المؤلف، والثاني أفرده لترجمته، والثالث خصصه للتعريف بالكتاب، وأخيراً وليس آخراً، ذيّل الكتاب بثبت مصادر تحقيقه ومراجعه، وثبت مضامينه.
