صدرت الطبعة الأولى من الكتاب الماثل في عام 1992 تحت مسمى شيك الضمان والوديعة والائتمان ثم تم إلحاق هذا الجزء في مؤلف "الدفوع في جرائم الشيك" الذي صدر عام 2000 وبعد صدور قانون التجارة الجديد رقم 17 لسنة 1999 أصدرنا في العام المنقضى مؤلف جرائم الشيك في ضوء قانون التجارة الجديد رقم 17 لسنة 1999 وأشتمل المؤلف على سبعة أبواب خصصنا الباب السابع لمعالجة مشكلات شيك الضمان.
والآن وقد حان الوقت لإصدار مؤلف شامل لمعالجة موضوعات شيك الشمان بصورة أكبر في ظل قانون التجارة الجديد باعتبارها محاولة نرجو أن تكون مثمرة بصدد هذا الموضوع المهم في الوقت الحاضر فقد قمنا بتعديل أسم الكتاب من شيك الضمان إلى شيك الائتمان بأعتباره أكثر ملائمة في الوقت الحاضر، كما قمنا بإعادة فهرسة الكتاب تبعاً لأهمية الموضوعات في الوقت الحاضر حيث عرضنا لكل من شيكات الوديعة والائتمان والضمان كلا في باب مستقل وبدأنا البحث بفصل تمهيدي عن الطبيعة القانونية لشيك الائتمان وأختتمنا الكتاب بأحدث أحكام النقض وأهم التشريعات المرتبطة بموضوع المؤلف الماثل، ونرجو أن تحوز هذه الطبعة من مؤلف "شيك الائتمان" القبول من العاملين في الحقل القانوني.
