تطرّق بالتفصيل إلى السياسات التي كانت تدور خلف الأبواب المغلقة، حتى أنه أدخلنا إلى غرفة الأوضاع في البيت الأبيض إبّان الهجوم على بن لادن.
تناول من جوانب عدة الأوضاع في العالم العربي من مصر وفلسطين وصولاً إلى دول الخليج، وذهب أبعد من ذلك إلى إيران وأوروبا.
عبّر عن تفانيه في حب العسكريين الأميركيين وقادتهم، ووُضع في مواجهاتٍ قاسية مع أهالي الضحايا وأبنائهم.
وضع كتابه هذا بنبرةٍ غاضبة، وكأنه يريد إراحة ضميره في جردة الحساب هذه. وتناول فيه علاقاته برؤساء دول وملوكٍ عربٍ وأجانب، ولا سيما العاهل السعودي الذي كان يفضي إليه بمكنوناته.
أشار إلى موقف أوباما اللامبالي من الأزمة السورية والحرب الدائرة فيها، في الوقت الذي كان يعمل فيه على الملفّ الإيراني.
وثّق الحربين اللتين خاضتهما الولايات المتحدة في أفغانستان والعراق، حيث كان شاهداً ومشاركاً فيهما.
كتابٌ يرصد ارتدادات الهزائم والأوضاع المتردّية في أنحاء العالم على الداخل الأميركي.
