من المعلوم كذلك أن عملية جمع آيات القرآن- أو التآليف بينها- لتكون سورة قائمة بذاتها، قد تمت بأمر سيدنا رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وسلم) وتحت إشرافه، فلقد قال زيد بن ثابت، كبير كتاب الوحي: كنا عند رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وسلم) يقول لكتاب الوحي: ضعوا هذه الآية أو الآيات بين آية كذا وكذا من سورة كذا، وأن هناك ترقيمان لكل سورة: أحدهما يعطي ترتيب النزول، والآخر يعطي ترتيب المصحف، ولا يتفق الترقيمان إلا في حالات محدودة مثل سورة ص التي يتفق ترتيبها في المصحف مع ترتيبها في النزول، كما أن هناك ترقيماً ثالثاً يعطي عدد آيات كل سورة، إن ذلك معلوم عن آيات القرآن تنزيلاً وجمعاً وترتيباً، فإذا وجدنا بعد ذلك أن إكتمال الآيات في سورها، ثم إكتمال السور وترتيبها في المصح، خلال تلك المدة الطويلة التي بلغت نحو 23 عاماً، واقترنت بذلك الصراع الرهيب بين المسلمين والكفار- قد جاء وفق "منظومات عددية" تماثل تلك المنظومات العددية التي نراها في الكون الفسيح الذي نعيش فيه لكان في هذا البرهان الكافي على أن الذي صدر عنه هذا القرآن هو- سبحانه- الذي صدر عنه هذا الكون، وإن القرآن هو كتاب الله المقروء، كما أن الكون هو كتاب الله المشهود.
