لقد تعرضت هذه الدراسة للكشف عن عبقرية مكة من خلال موقعاه وانسجام موضعها مع الهد المنشود من وجودها؛ وهذا العرض الخاص للتاريخ والجغرافيا معاً، يبرز مدى خصوصيتها وإسهامها ونطقهما بضرورة بعث نبوة في هذه اللحظة وفي هذا المكان على وجه التحديد، بما لا يمكن أن يوجد في دراسة أحدهما بمعزل عن الآخر، فكلا الزمان والمكان كانا وعاء متفاعلاً لمخاض نبوة الخاتمة.
ولقد تعرضت هذه الدراسة لمدينة مكة المكرمة من واقع بناء السيرة وأحداثها، لتقديم صورة لها من التاريخ متناسقة عامرة بالحركة والفاعلية، فعرض السيرة لمكة أو غيرها يتميز بهذه الخصوصية، فالأحداث وتطوراتها، والشخصيات وعمقها، والصراع وحيويته يعطي لمكة خصوبة الفكر وحيويته وتجدده، ولقد حاولت تقديم صورة ميسرة لها من خلال، بناء السيرة، إسهاماً مني في اختيار المدينة عاصمة للثقافة هذا العام، وأنها لبادرة طيبة من المسؤلين أن يقع هذا الإختيار عليها، فهي جديرة بذلك وعلى اعتماد هذه الدراسة على نصوص السيرة، فإن تناولها ومعالجتها كان من منظور علمي وتحليلي ونقدي، ولا مانع من معالجة شخصية مكة في هذه الأطر؛ ففضلاً عن توفر المادة الأدبية في المادة التاريخية لاسيما السيرة منها، فإن المعالجة لهذه المادة هي الفيصل.
