كنتُ قد بدأتُ سيرتي الذَّاتيَّةَ بكتابي: (رحلةِ الثَّلاثينَ عاماً)، ثمَّ ألحَّ عليَّ بعضُ المحبِّينَ في إستكمالِ السِّيرةِ الذَّاتيَّةِ، لما بعدَ الثَّلاثينَ عاماً؛ وقد استجبتُ لذلك بعدَ تردُّدِ... وكانَ مِنْ أسبابِ إستجابتي، ما لَقِيَهُ القِسمُ الأوَّلُ، وهو: (رحلةُ الثَّلاثينَ عاماً)، مِن الرَّواجش، وكثّرةِ تداولِه بينَ السِّرِ الذِّاتيَّةِ في المملكةِ العربيَّةِ السَّعوديَّةِ، بلْ جعلَهُ بعضُ الكتَّابِ مَرجِعاً مِنْ مَراجِعِ كتاباتِهم في السِّيرةِ الذَّاتيَّةِ، مثل: الدُّكتور/ عبد الله الحيدري، وكتابه: (السِّيرة الذَّاتيَّةِ في الأدبِ السَّعوديِّ)...
وسأجعلُ (رحلةَ السَّبعينَ عاماً) تكملةً للفترةِ مِنْ عامِ (1400هـ) وما بعدَها، وقد أرجِعُ لما قَبلَها؛ إذا اقتضى الأمرُ ذلك، عندَ تداخُلِ بعضِ المعلوماتِ نادراً، ولكنَّني سأحاولِ - إنْ شاء اللهُ - المُحافظةَ على تسلسلِ الأحداث، والسَّردِ التَّاريخيِّ...
