الديانه اليهودية من الاديان السماوية التي يعتقد معتنقوها ان شريعتهم منزلة من الله سبحانة وتعالي واليهودية اسم يطلق علي ديانة بني اسرائيل . وقد تأسست هذه الديانة علي يد موسي عندما خرج ببني اسرائيل من ارض مصر وقد تلقي دستور هذه الديانة علي جبل سيناء وساهمت اجيال عديدة في تطوير وتكوين فكر وشريعة وطقوس هذه الديانة وعبر تاريخ هذه الديانة الطويلة تأثرت بمعتقدات وطقوس امم مختلفة . ولليهودية كتب مقدسة تحمل بين طياتها تاريخا وادبا وقصصا وحكمة وشعرا وشريعة وقد اختلفت اليهود علي مدي قدسية بعض الكتب وتفرقوا في ذلك فرقا ومذاهب ويتناول الكتاب عقيدة وفكر وصف هذه الديانه وبعض طقوسها ومواسمها واعيادها وكذلك الفرق والشيع والمذاهب التي ظهرت في اليهودية واهم الخلافات بين هذه المذاهب ويتميز بمناقشاته الواسعة وتحليلاته القيمة ونقده الايجابي لمحتويات الديانة اليهودية كما تغلب عليه صفة الموضوعية اللازمة في دراسات الاديان والتي تهدف الي تحقيق المعرفة العلمية الوصفية بالاديان الاخري وبدون اقحام للموقف الديني للمؤلف .
