واجهت الدولة العثمانية مشاكل عدة علي المستويين المحلي والدولى سواء كان ذلك فى فترات قوتها وازدهارها أو فترات ضعفها وانحطاطها وبعد سقوط الخلافة العثمانية (1924 ) وإعلان الجمهورية التركية لم يخل تاريخ تركيا من الأزمات والمشاكل ومنها وضع تركيا الدولي إبان الحرب العالمية الثانية وسياسة الحياد التي انتهجتها وايضا مشكلة قبرص تلك المشكلة التي تعةد جذورها الي عصور قديمة والتي ازدادت حدتها بعد إعلان جمهورية قبرص الشمالية التركية ( 1983 ) فضلا عن مشكلة طائفة الأرمن ودورها في إضعاف الدولة العثمانية ومشاكل الرعايا غير المسلمين فيها ونظرا لأهمية تلك المشاكل السابقة التي أثرت علي كيان الدولة العثمانية وتركيا الحديثة ، فقد راينا التصدى لتلك المشكلات بالدراسة الموضوعية وبيان أثارها علي كيان دولة تركيا .
