عام 2000 حين التقيته أول مرّة (حدث ذلك في الشارقة) كان لديه من الخبز ما يكفي لإطعام الآلهة العاكفة على أسرارها، قدّم فادي يازجي لي خبزه الملوّث بالحبر بإعتباره هبة إلهام إستثنائيّ، كان لديه ما يقوله عن المادة ومن خلالها، عن الخبز وعن الحبر ممتزجَين كما لو أنهما خُلقاً متلازمين، تلك البلاغة المتأنيّة من غير أن تُخفي حماستها أعانته في ما بعد على إستدراج عادات المادّة إلى منطقة تقع خارج حدودها المألوفة.
لم يكن ذلك الخبز كفاف يوم ما، بل كان عنصر حياة متخيّلة، حياة لم تستوف بعد شروطها كاملة، ربما ستفعل ذلك من خلال الفنّ، لكن في زمن لاحق، في تلك المعادلة لن يكون الخبز إستثناءً، ففي عالم هذا الفنان ستكون الموادّ الطالعة من الطبيعة ضالة مباشرة للذهاب بالحواس أبعد من وظائفها المتاحة، كما لو أنّ الفنان صار يتعرّف من خلال تلك المواد، لا على الرسم والنحت وحدهما بل على نفسه وعلى أبعاد المحيط من حوله ايضاً، وهو ما يؤهّل الفنّ لكي يكون مرجعاً لمعرفة أحوال الفنّان البيئيّة، وبسبب تبدّل تلك الأحوال سنرى وجوه مَن عبروا به خفاقاً كما لو أنّها تطلع من الغيب.
35 وجهاً من الحبر على القماش، ألا يمكن أن تكون تلك الوجوه ناقصة؟ هناك وجه منسيّ دائماً، خصّص الفنّان لكل وجه مربّعاً، وإلى جوار ذلك المربّع هناك مربّع، تركه الرسّام فارغاً لكي يكتب عليه صاحب الوجه ما يشاء.
