ويعد مارسيل بريغو من أهم الكتاب الذين انقطعوا إلى تحليل المرأة ونفسيتها، وهو إنما يقصد بالطبيعة المرأة الفرنسية في عصره وققد وصفها وصفاً دقيقاً وحمل أهم إنجازاته القصصية وفيه يتحدث عن ضعف المرأة الأخلاقى فيقدم صورة لسيدة فتك بها هذا المرض الخطير فقضى على حياتها مع الرجل الذي أحبها بصدق وأخلص لها.
