تحكي الرواية عن شخصية محورية ( ساري ) الذي مات والده وهو صغير ، وحين يستدعي ذاكرته ويعيد الأحداث على ذهنه يكتشف أن موت والده لم يكن طبيعياً ، هنا يبدأ مرحلة البحث عن سبب وفاة والده الذي كان يتقاسم مع عمه بيت شعبي واحد .
من جهة أخرى تشعر زوجة شاهر عمّ ساري أن أحداً خالطها الفراش لحظة بين النوم واليقظة، لتدور الأحداث ويكون سبب موت والد ساري هو شقيقه شاهر )
أرى أن هذا اختصار مخل بصلب الرواية لكني لا أستطيع جمع أطراف الرواية بأسطر قليلة ، لكن عموماً هذه أجواء الرواية من بعيد !
