إن تعلم للغة العربية أمر محفوف بالصعوبات إذ تختلف صيغ التعبير والتراكيب القواعدية في العربية عن مثيلاتها في اللغة الإنكليزية أو اللغات الأخرى. لذا كان وضع قاموس عربي-إنكليزي للمتعلم أمراً ذا أهمية بالغة وهذا القاموس يلبي حاجة المتعلمين والدارسين على حد سواء روعي فيه أن يكون جامعاً شاملاً لكل الصيغ والتركيبات اللغوية التي ترد باللغة العربية وأمامها الصيغ المشابهة والمناسبة باللغة الإنكليزية.
فقد اتبع المؤلف ترتيب المفردات وفق الألفبائية العربية. فذكرها مجردة دون زيادات، مبيناً فيما بعد كيف تتغير معانيها بإضافة الحركات والنقاط (حروف علة-نقاط... الخ). وقد بين أيضاً كيفية استخدام مثل (تاء التأنيث) وأورد المفردة بصيغتها في المفرد والمذكر، عندما يكون ذلك مركباً لغرض إيضاح كيفية استخدامها كما لم ينسى أن يبين كيفية صياغة الاشتقاقات باللغة العربية بإضافة حرف ي.
وركز أيضاً على الصيغ القياسية (فاعل، فعّال، فعالة، فعائل، مفاعل، أفاعل، تفاعل، فواعل... الخ)، وقد ابتدأ بالهمزة موضحاً صيغ كتابتها حيث أن هذا القاموس بحق يسد نقصاً طالما شعر به محبو اللغة العربية والمهتمون بدراستها وهو خير مساعد لهم في مهمتهم.
