وفي صباح يوم جمعة يصعب نسيانه، رأيته في ساحل «السيب» يرفع سمكة كبيرة من ذيلها. كان متوترا وهو يبحث عن سيارة أجرة؛ جبينه المعروق مقطَّب ورقبته لا تتوقف عن الدوران. اقترحت عليه أن أوصله، فرجاني أن أسرع كي لا تُفسد الحرارة سمكته. طلب مني كذلك إشعال إشارات الخطر. وحين أوصلته وهمّ بالنزول تمتم، بنبرة مَن يكلّم نفسه: الحرارة لا تُحتمَل. في المرة المقبلة سأطلب سيارة إسعاف ﻹيصال السمك سالما إلى البيت!
