"كان قد ملَّ من تلك الكليشيهات الجاهزة، والكلمات المصفوفة التي تسمى بالمحادثات في هذا الزمن، لقد سمعها كلّها من قبل، وبدأ الناس بنظره بالانصهار معًا، متحولين إلى ذلك الكيان المطاطي بلا ملامح محدّدة، كان عليه أن يعمل طوال اليوم ويتبعثر في عالمه طوال المساء، وربما يشرب في عطلة نهاية الأسبوع لكي يمرّ يومه بسلام دون أن يسرح فكره في عبثية الوجود، في تلك الليلة كان قد فرغ من نشر أحد أعماله الشعرية البسيطة على الإنترنت، فقد كان يكتب النثر والشعر كهوايةٍ جانبية، أحيانًا كان يتقصد أن يكتب شيئًا تفهمه العامة، وأحيانًا كان يكتب أفكارًا أكثر تعقيدًا، أحيانًا كتابات حزينة، وأحيانًا رومانسية، وفي بعض المرات تكون كتاباته ساخرة".
