يتناول هذا الكتاب بالدّراسة، عدّة موضوعات متفرّقة في تاريخ الحروب الصليبيّة على مدى القرنين الثّاني عشر والثّالث عشر الميلادي، وقد تنوّعت بين محاولات التّنظير لها، وكذلك دور الدّنمارك والمجامع الكنيسة، ثم الصّدام بين الصّوفية والرّهبان الفرسان الصّليبيين، وأخيراً هناك دراستان عن فارس الإسلام النبيل صلاح الدين الأيّوبي خلال ذلك العصر.
لعلَّ القارئ يجد فيها أضواء كاشفة على عصرٍ صاخب الأحداث لا يزال المؤلف يبذل جهد الجهيد من أجل فهمه بفضل الله تعالى من قبل ومن بعد.
