الفصل الثانى: يقوم بعرض الثورة التي أحدثها تشومسكي في علم اللغة من خلال إيضاح مفهوم الثورة فى العلم و سمات البنيوية اللفوية و أهدفها و عيوبها و ما حققته ثورة تشومسكي من إنجازات.
الفصل الثالث: يعرض السلوكية بأنواعها المختلفة و نقد تشومسكى لها و تبنيه المذهب العقلاني.
الفصل الرابع: يوضح طبيعة المعرفة اللغوية، ونظريات تعلم اللغة من المنظور السلوكي التجريبي، وأهم الانتقادات التى وجهت لها و على وجه الخصوص انتقادات تشومسكي و نظريته في اكتساب اللغة.
الفصل الخامس: يناقش استعمال اللغة و الإبداع اللغوى و التناول السلوكي للمعني و نظرية تشومسكي في المعني.
وقد استخدم فى دراسته المنهج التحليلي وهو أكثر المناهج الملائمة للتعامل مع قضايا فلسفة اللغة، و استخدم المنهج التاريخي أحيانأ فى تأصيل المذاهب و المدارس اللغوية و النفسية و بخاصة التى انتقدها تشومسكي.
