يقول الشيخ عبد الله الشبراوي في مقدمة منظومته النحوية: قد سألني من يعز على أن أنظم له أبياتًا تشتمل على قواعد فن العربية، فأجبتهلما سأل، طالبًا من الله بلوغ الأمل، ورتبه على خمسة أبواب: الباب الأول في الكلام عند النحاة وما يتألف منه، الباب الثاني: في الإعراب اصطلاحًا، الباب الثالث: في مرفوعات الأسماء، الباب الرابع: في منصوبات الأسماء، الباب الخامس: في مخفوضات الأسماء.
هذه هي المنظومة التي قام بشرح معانيها وتبسيط ما جاء فيها الشيخ أبو محمد معاذ أحمد عمر، الشهير بإبراهيم أحمد عمر صه، وأسماه هداية الراوي لشرح منظومة الشبراوي، وقد جاءت المنظومة وشرحها معًا في هذا الكتاب، حيث نجد المنظومة يليها الشرح الخاص بها، وذلك حتى تكتمل الفائدة المرجوة من الكتاب.
