يجمع عدداً من الأمثال الشعبية المختارة من الجزيرة العربية التي اقتبست من نصوص شرعية، ويؤصلها ويخرجها ويوضح معانيها، مقسماً إياها إلى أربعة أقسام: ما كان منها بلفظ آية، وما كان منها بمعنى آية، وما كان منها بلفظ حديث، وما كان منها بمعنى حديث، مورداً المثل وتخريجه وبيان معناه ومواضع إستعماله، والأدلة الشرعية التي اقتبس منها المثل من آية قرآنية أو حديث نبوي، ثم يعلق على الحديث من حيث قوة سنده أو ضعفه، وينبه إلى ما جاء في بعض هذه الأمثال من محذورات شرعية.
