هذا الكتاب هو استقصاء علمى لادلة مثبتى القياس ونفاته مع تحليل اصولى لمنهج الاستدلال الذى دفع فريق المثبتبن للقياس الى حشد ادلة لاتصلح للدلالة عليه ان لم تضعف طرائق الاستدلال كما دفع فريق النافين الى الاغراق فى رفض ما يشير صراحة الى حجية القياس ثم تحرير مواضع النزاع بحث يبدو ان هناك معركة حول المسميات وتحديد المصطلحات فما يعده الجمهور قياسا عده منكروه من دلالة النص . كما تحاول الدراسة استكشاف هل عجز منكرو القياس عن الاجتهاد فيما لا نص فيه ؟ ام توسعوا فى دلالات النصوص ؟ او رجعوا الى عصمة الائمة ؟ ام وقعوا فى مزالق منهجية فى الاجتهاد ؟ هذا كله فى منهجية تسعى الى جمع اراء المفسرين مع احكام المحدثين واجتهادات الاصوليين القدامى والمحدثين لنفيد من تراثهم اجمعين فى استيضاح ادلة حجية القياس ومعالجة شبة النافين مع توسيع دلالة النصوص المعللة لتشمل بالنص لا القياس كل ما تحققت فيه علته .
