هذه شعبة من شعب الإيمان موسومة بالكرم والجود والسخاء. قال تعالى: (الذين ينفقون أموالهم باليل والنهار سراً وعلانية فلهم أجرهم عند ربهم ولا خوف عليهم ولا هم يحزنون), حيث إن أعظم ما تحلى به الحر بعد العقل والأدب صفة الكرم, وذلك لأن الكرم صفة جامعة لصفات الجمال ونعوت الكمال. فالكريم هو الجواد السخي شريف النفس والإباء. فمن جمع هذه الصفات الأربع سمي كريماً, فلو كان جواداً سخياً شريف النفس غير شريف الإباء, أو جواداً سخياً شريف الإباء غير شريف النفس فلا يقال له كريم, أي كامل الكرم.
