هذه القصّة مُستوحاه من التُّراث الشّفهيّ للأمثال الشّعبيّة في منطقة عسير- جنوب المملكة العربيّة السّعودية. التُّراث الشّفهيّ هو واحد من أهمّ أوعية الثّقافة التي تختزن حكمة الشّعوب، وتُجسّد وجودها، وتحفظ ثقافاتها، فهو الذّاكرة الحيّة لتجارب المُجتمعات، تتناقله الأجيال، وتنسج من أمثاله وحكاياه، عباءة هوّيتها ورمزيّة قيمها، ليكون بذلك دستورها العابر لحواجز الزّمان والمكان. قصّتنا تستلهم مثلاً شعبيًّا يُصوّر العاقبة الوخيمة للتّسرّع في الأمور.. المثل يقول : (اقطعوا مزقمي فإنّي عجله)*، ويَرد على لسان بومة تُحضر اجتماعًا للطّيور، من المُتوقّع أن يُسفِر عن قطع مناقير جميع أنواع الطّير لسبب ما، لكنّ البومة لا تتريّث حتّى يتّضح الأمر، فتطلب قصّ منقارها لتمضي في شأنها، وبعد ذلك يتخلّى الجميع عن الفكرة فيحتفظون بمناقيرهم، وتبقى البومة من دون منقار إلى الأبد!
