كان أول كتاب تم تأليفه في مصر عن تصميم خزانات المياه الخرسانية قام به المرحوم الأستاذ الدكتور/ محمد هلال حوالى عام 1968 ولكن بعد صدور المواصفات القياسية المصري لأعمال الخرسانة المسلحة لعام 1989 وكود الأحمال لعام 1993 فكان من الواجب ان اقوم بتصنيف كتاب شرح التصميم الإنشائي لخزانات المياه الخرسانية بجميع أنواعها طبقا لهذه المواصفات الجديدة خصوصا بعد التغيير الكبير في مفاهيم التصميم الإنشائي لمقاومة الشروخ في القطاعات الخرسانية المسلحة وذلك عن المواصفة السابقة لعام 1970 وحيث ان الفرق شاسعا والمفهوم المتغير كبير فقد استغرق تحضير الكتاب وتصنيفه في حوالي ثلاث سنوات ، وانني اسال الله سبحانه وتعالى ان يشمل هذا الكتاب برعايته ويحبب خلقه فيه ويجعله نفعا للمسلمين في كل مكان.
