(استجوابات مفتش) مسرحية من ثلاثة فصول من تأليف "جوني بونيتن برستلي" (1894-1984) نقلتها إلى العربية "وعد السليمان".
كان جون بونيتن واحد من الذين شهدوا الحرب العالمية الأولى وعندما بلغ ربيعه الثلاثين كان قد إكتسب صيتاً واسعاً كناقد وكاتب معروف. وحقق نجاحات عدة، أهمها مسرحية "إستجوابات مفتش" التي بيَن من خلالها وجهات نظره ومبادئه في الحياة، والتي وسمت بطابعها تلك الفترة التي عاشها. فنجح من خلال شخصية المفتش غوول في المسرحية أن يعرض أهم أفكاره التي تتجسد في إنهاء الإستغلال الذي مارسته الرأسمالية على الطبقة العاملة والسعي نحو تحقيق العدالة الإجتماعية، وعرض من خلالها المشاكل التي يتعرض لها أصحاب الطبقة البرجوازية والغموض الذي يكتنف حياتهم والزيف والنفاق الإجتماعي الذي من خلاه يجدون حلاً لكل مشاكلهم، كذلك يصوَر "برستلي" حياتهم وإهتماماتهم السطحية وأسلوبهم في العيش وإحتقارهم لمتطلبات عيش الفئة الدنيا وهم فقراء المدن والريف والطبقة العاملة..... كما يبدون في المسرحية....
هذه الفتاة انتحرت - وشهدت ميتة فظيعة... ولكن كل واحد منكم ساهم في قتلها... تذكروا ذلك... لا تنسوه أبداً...
