الحب قيمة شعورية لا تستقيم إلا بين طرفين، متشابهين أو مختلفين، في النظرة إلى الحياة وما يتفرع عنها من أحوال. وشخصيات هذه الرواية مختلفين في النظرة لموقع الرجل والمرأة في الحياة العامة والخاصة، وهو المجال الذي تدور حوله رواية "صدى الببغاء"، الرواية التي التي كرستها الروائية المبدعة شيخة البرازي لتعالج من خلالها قضايا نسوية تتصل بطبيعة الأنثى وتكوينها النفسي والثقافي والجمالي، وفيها تتطرق إلى موضوع إقصاء الأنثى والحق في المساواة ورفض كل ّ ما يتّصل بعمليات التنميط الجنسي التي كرّستها الثقافة الأبّوية، والتي تم فيها إعلاء جنس الذكور على حساب جنس النساء طبقاً لمعايير (تقاليد) اجتماعية وليست دينية.
"صدى الببغاء" هي قصة حبّ تجمع امرأتين برجل واحد، الأولى "فاطمة" امرأة مثالية، ساعية إلى المعرفة، وتنمية ثقافتها، معلّمة وناشطة نسوية، تعيش الحياة العصرية في "السوشيال ميديا"، وثائرة على المفاهيم والممارسة الخاطئة للتقاليد الدينية التي تلامس حقوق المرأة. والثانية "سوسن" امرأة لعوب، ذات غنج ودلال، رسامة، ساخرة من كل شيء، ومُحِبة للحياة والحرية. وعلى الرغم من هذا التناقض الذي يفرّق بين الشخصيتين، إلا أن كلتاهما اجتمعتا على حب رجل واحد "خالد" المحامي المتحدر من طبقة ارستقراطية، الناجح في عمله، والمتناقض فكراً وسلوكاً، والمؤمن بتعدد الزوجات، يريد أن يُحب وأن يتزوج ولكن على طريقته "التملك". فهل سينجح هو في فرض إرادته؟ أم ستنجح إحداهما أو كلتاهما من الفكاك من أسر حبه؟
ما يميز هذه الرواية، هو ما تحتويه من جماليات السرد الروائي الأنثوي، والدقة في التعبير والرهافة في الذوق والعمق في الرؤية تجاه الآخر والحياة، ومواءمة اللغة مع الأفكار التي تعبّر عنها، وتماهي تعابيرها بين الأنا والأنتِ، وخاصة أنها اعتمدت الحوار والبوح والمنولوج، والأهم مشاركة القارئ أفكار الرواية وإثارة حفيظته لإعادة النظر في المسلّمات التي تربى عليها...
