أتوسّل إليكم أن تأخذوا مور إليكم في تشيستوبل، اتّخذوه ابناً لكم، ولَيتعلّمْ، لم أعد أستطيع أن أفعل له أيّ شيء، إني أُهلِكه لا غير.
يوجد في حقيبتي 150 روبلاً، وإذا أمكنكم بيعوا أغراضي كلّها؛ في الصندوق الصغير عدد نم مخطوطاتي الشعرية ورزمة من كتاباتي النثرية.
أعهد بها إليكم، اهتموا بمور الغالي، إن صحته هشة للغاية... أحبّوه مثلَ ابنٍ لكم، فهو يستحق، سامحوني، لم أتحمّل.
لا تتخلّوا عنه أبداً، سأكون سعيدةَ حتّى الجنون إذا عاش عندكم، لا تتركوه...
ثمّ اختارت قطعة حبل مما كانت تحزم به أغراضها وعقَدتْها أنشوطة، وعلّقت خرقة تستر بها كوّة في الجدار، ثم أُقدمت على الإنتحار وكأنه أمرٌ إلهيّ.
عاد الجيران فرأوا مارينا مشنوقة وقدَماها تكادان تلامسان الأرض، وحين عاد مور لم يُسمح له بالدخول ومشاهدة المنظر الرهيب، كانت الشرطة في المكان، وكان الطبيب الشرعي قد أكّد واقعة الوفاة.
وقد شَيّع الجيرانُ وعدد قليل من الناس جثمان مارينا تسقيتايقا إلى مثواه الأخير، لم يُلقِ أحدٌ عليه كلمة وداع، لم تنشر أيّ جريدة خبر وفاتها.
لم توضَعٍ شاهدة قبر تحمل اسمها وتاريخ الولادة والوفاة، لم يسوَّر القبرُ بحجر أو خشبُ أو علامات، لم يبقَ من أثر للشاعر مارينا تسقيتايفا إلا ما خلّفته من كتب ومخطوطات ويوميات.
