منذ قديم الوقت كانت الحضارة الفرعونية محط أنظار العلماء والباحثين إزداد هذا الاهتمام وإتسعت دائرته بعد فك شفرة رموزها والكثير من أسرارها.. فانتقلت العدوى إلى خارج نطاق العلماء إلى كل العالم في جميع بقاعه.. وأصبحنا نرى المؤلفات التى تتناول كل جانب من جوانب هذه الحضارة فقد نرى ما يتناول تاريخ أسراتها أو آثارها الثمينة أو مظاهر الحياة وأنشطتها، وكذلك هذا الكتاب الذي بين يدينا ولكنه إستطاع ان يجمع في صحفاته كافة هذه الأوجه وأكثرها في حضارة ما زال في جعبتها الكثير من الأسرار ولأن "الموت" و"البعث" إستحوذ على تفكير المصريين القدماء، فقد أفرد المؤلف الأستاذ "بكر محمد إبراهيم جزءا من كتابه للحديث عن عقائد الموت لديهم وكتاب الموتى ، لا يتوقف الكتاب عند هذا وإنما يطعم محتوياته بسرد تاريخي يشمل فراعنة وملوك هذه الحضارة ودولها واخيرا يتطرق المؤلف إلى قضية غاية في الخطورة ألا وهى سرقة الآثار فيستعرض تاريخ الآثار المصرية مع السرقة والنهب والتخريب.
هذا الكتاب يتناول غرائب وعجائب الفراعنة مستعرضا التاريخ الفرعونى كله من الأسرة الأولى حتى الأسرة الثلاثين مع التعرض للكثير من غرائبهم وعجائبهم ويحوى معارف هامة جداً وغزيرة عن تاريخ هؤلاء الأجداد اصحاب الحضارة القديمة والعلوم والمعارف التى كانوا يعلموها واخبار هذه الحضارة التى مازلنا حتى الآن نتعجب منها ولا ندرى الكثير من أسرارها وكيفية وصولهم إلى هذا المبلغ من التقدم المادى والعلم الأدبى.
